And last but not least in our long list of famous and influential Alaskans and Arctic Refuge heroes, here is a picture of Richard Fineberg (this pic is not actually from the Rally but he would not be left out)
~ Other Resources on the Arctic Refuge ~
Richard Fineberg's Website (www.FinebergResearch.com) ~ For three decades, Richard A. Fineberg has researched and reported on economic and environmental issues related to Alaska and global petroleum development. At this web site you will find fact-based information about economic and environmental aspects of oil industry operations in Alaska, with special emphasis on the North Slope oil fields and the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System (TAPS), which provides about one million barrels of oil per day (five percent of the nation's total consumption) to the West Coast. Due to the oil industry's power, political clout and media skills, much of the information you will find here is not widely reported or readily available elsewhere.
Northern Alaska Environmental Center Arctic Refuge website - all the background information
Another great Alaskans for saving the Arctic Refuge website is BOYCOTT HAWAI'I (boycottaloha.com) : This site is devoted to the coordination of a boycott of Hawai'i to convince that state's two Democratic Senators to vote against efforts to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Senator Inouye (D-HI) and Senator Akaka (D-HI) have a longstanding record of voting to allow oil drilling in the Arctic Refuge, against both the wishes of the majority of Americans and the overwhelming majority within their own party. If these Senators won't listen to the people, and they won't listen to their party, then perhaps they will listen when the public organizes a boycott of their home state.
